TeleCruz: Product Launch Release

TeleCruz Technology Inc., developer of cost-effective, single-chip solutions for interactive television, has introduced its TC701, interactive-TV-ready chip solution that enables television manufacturers to finally add interactive capabilities to television receivers.

TeleCruz is the only company offering a complete interactive television solution on a single chip. The versatile platform enables the mass marketing of interactive TVs and new consumer information services. The chip features built-in support for interactive program guides (IPGs) with embedded universal resource links (URLs), broadcast HTML, Internet access and e-mail, as well as: -- High-performance RISC CPU for communication and control -- Graphics co-processor with high-quality display for attractive user interface and data services -- Modem for two-way communication and interactive services (e-commerce) -- Television control and I/O lowers development cost and simplifies system engineering

In addition to the availability of the TC701 chip, TeleCruz announced the shipping of its CruzerWare software. CruzerWare is a complete software technology based on Internet standards. The software features: Communications protocols including TCP/IP and PPP; Internet standards HTTP and HTML; real-time operating environment; and support for popular development platforms including Windows '98, NT and Solaris. The TeleCruz solution combines both the TC701 chip and CruzerWare software for less than $25, and with appropriate volumes, the price approaches $15.
